Rugby Union Mauritius has employed a National Technical Director named Julien Blazy since the 1st December for a period of two years.

Julien was a technical counselor at the French Rugby Federation (FFR) since the last 4 years and led Mayotte since 2008 to 2010.Being an ex-rugbyman of Blagnac Rugby Club, Julien mentioned that his aim will be based on 3 important points :

• Development, Training and High Level of Rugby. 
• He has prepared an action plan for the development of Rugby in primary schools and for the vulnerable groups and he will put this plan in action this year.
• With the assistance of local coaches, he will be dealing with the selection of national teams in different categories particularly with 7’s Rugby (Olympic discipline in Rio in 2016).
